Mill Meadow Nature Trail and Woodland Walk

This booklet is a guide to the recently established
Mill Meadow Nature Trail. It is illustrated with many sketches and diagrams and guides the visitor around the trail at their own pace. Starting from the Miller's Well, the trail visits a number of marked sites located around the meadow. At these, the guide indicates items that may be seen or asks a simple question to ponder over and answer. Visit the Jubilee Hedge and learn how to tell a guelder rose from a dog rose, or a hawthorn from a blackthorn. Or how about hunting
for a foxtail and a cocksfoot!

Having reached the end of the trail, the visitor can relax in the tea room with a well-earned cup of tea
or coffee while they check their answers with those given on the back of the guide. And no cheating!!!

A small woodland walk is also available for a short stroll, although this is not included in the booklet.
Copies of this guide may be purchased in the Exhibition Room on Open Days.
