The display of stationary engines created a large amount of interest, and was a bonus for those attending the July Open Day. Visitors were able to watch the engines working as they provided power for a range of machinery, including a bench drill, an air blower and two water pumps. In addition, the 3HP Lister petrol engine was also busy driving a 20 litre food mixer. Just the thing to mix the ingredients for some weekend cake baking: take 6 bags of flour, 3 bags of sugar, 7 lbs of sultannas, 5 pints of milk .......... stir well for 10 minutes!
