Open Days during 2011

The dates of the Open Days for 2011 are now available. A programme of Special Events and Guided Walks have now been arranged for the 2011 Open Days.

During the winter period, while the mill has been closed, some changes have been made in the mill meadow. Water from the car park spring is now piped into an enlarged pool at the top
of the meadow, the overflow finally reaching a new pool created by enlarging the previously narrow overflow stream. The area in the meadow stripped of topsoil has been seeded with a mixture containing wild flower seeds intended to create a meadow area with a selection of wild flowers.

Even if you have visited the Mill on earlier Open Days, the tea-room still makes a ideal location for afternoon tea and cakes!

Cereals at the Mill

During 2011 we shall be growing "Wheats of the World". This is a display of different species of Triticum wheat from various parts of the world. Many of these have now been replaced by Bread Wheat leading to a loss of the other wheat species.
