The programmes of Special Events and Guided Walks for 2008 are now available. The Special Events include many of the favourites from previous years; Mills on the Air, RSPB, Stationary Engines, Spinners and Weavers, and last years new and popular Wood Turner.

Two new events include demonstrations of willow stem basketry on 26th May and making basic corn dollies, with 'hands-on' experience, on 14th September.

Another new event on the 10th August will provide rides on a mini-traction engine and the opportunity to listen to a fairground organ.

Over 3,700 visitors were recorded during the Open Days of 2007, some visiting more than once. Most of them toured the Mill itself but some, having previously visited the Mill, have discovered that the tea-room makes a relaxing location for an afternoon tea and cake!

The Garner Display Area

The Miller's Workshop and the Miller's Store up on the Garner floor of the Mill have become 'all-lit-up' - now you can really see what is hiding there in the previous dimly lit corners!

Cereals at the Mill

During 2008, we shall again be growing the wild and cultivated plants illustrating the Evolution of Wheat. Bread wheat and pasta or durum wheat are two major cereals that are cultivated in many parts of the world. Come and see how your bread and pasta originated.
